Best friends for over a decade, Jon Hirsch & Yasir Malik left their respective small towns, much to the chagrin of their parents, to chase their dreams. Both having earned their MBAs, the duo have over 20+ years of animation expertise between them working at Nickelodeon, Dreamworks, Warner Brothers, Sony, and Netflix. Their backgrounds include development, producing, screenwriting, animation pipelines, and finance, culminating in the founding of their production company, King Deer.
The duo’s prior animated series, PEARL, was picked up by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, and their murder-mystery feature, IRON MUZZLE, gained traction at Netflix.
Passionate about animation and character-centric storytelling, the two collaborate primarily on comedy and horror projects. You can also often spot them arguing whether or not sushi should have cream cheese.
